Modernizacija

The company modernized the first diesel locomotive 2M62 and installed firm’s CATERPILLAR diesel engine CAT 3500 in 2005. Since 2005 until 2008 the company modernized 29 diesel locomotives. The fuel consumption of one modernized locomotive has decreased up 35% (in average, around 300 tons of diesel per year).

  • freight locomotives 2M62M. Modernization of the locomotives by completing capital repair works CR-2 and replacing old internal combustion engines14D40 by modern internal combustion engines Caterpillar CAT3512 – 1700 kW(USA), 10 locomotives were modernized in total;
  • freight locomotives 2M62M. Modernization of the locomotives by completing capital repair works CR-2 and replacing old internal combustion engines 14D40 by modern internal combustion engines Caterpillar CAT3512 – 2100 kW(USA), 19 locomotives were modernized in total;
  • freight locomotives 2M62УС-0118. Customer – Latvian Railways. Modernization of the locomotive by completing capital repair works CR-2 and replacing old internal combustion engine 14D40 by modern internal combustion engine Caterpillar CAT35126- 2200 kW(USA).

A shunting locomotive ČME–3M was modernized in 2007-2009 by installing firm’s”CATERPILLAR” diesel engine CAT3500.This project was implemented together with partner from Czech Republic company “CZ LOKO”; the company has modernized 22 more locomotives of this type:

  • shunting locomotive ČME-3M. Modernization of the locomotives by completing capital repair works CR-2 and replacing old internal combustion enginesK6S310RF by modern internal combustion engines Caterpillar CAT3508 – 1455 kW(USA), 5 locomotives were modernized in total;
  • shunting locomotive  ČME-3M. Modernization of the locomotives by completing capital repair works CR-2 and replacing old internal combustion engines K6S310RF by modern internal combustion engines Caterpillar CAT3512B- 993 kW(USA), 17 locomotives were modernized in total.

Latvian company’s “ALPHA EXPRESS” shunting locomotiveTGM4-2572 was modernized by installing “CATEPILLAR” engine CAT 3508 with 600 kW power in 2008. This project was executed together with the German company “ZEPPELIN POWER SYSTEMS”.

With company’s increased demand for manoeuvringperformances, a private low-power biaxial shunting locomotive TGK-2was modernized in 2009 by installing internal combustionengine TAD951GE “VOLVO PENTA” 224kW, designed by a Swedish company “VOLVO”. These low-power locomotives are specially designed to perform shunting operations in industrial companies and railway system. Modernized locomotive TGK2M-6012 used in the depot site instead of shunting locomotives TEM2 saves around 1500 liters of fuel per month.

Two shunting locomotives TGM4 were modernized by installing “Caterpillar” diesel engines CAT 3508, 600 kW for Ukrainian Dniprodzerzhynsk metallurgy complex in 2014.
