    On 29 December 1884 Vilnius Steam Locomotive Return Depot was established.



  • 1884

    In 1888 it was renamed into Vilnius Steam Locomotive Depot and had its own steam locomotive park.



  • 1970

    In 1970 it was renamed into Vilnius Locomotive Depot, since the number of diesel locomotives increased.



  • 2003

    On 1 October 2003 JSC Vilnius Locomotive Repair Depot was established.



  • 2021

    On 1st April 2021, VLRD became a part of LTG Cargo
    to further provide rolling stock repair and modernization services in the market
    under the new brand LTG Tech.




  • 2004


    We were the first ones in the Baltic States in 2004 to re-motorize passenger/freight locomotive 2M62 and to design and install a new internal combustion engine5-26DG.01.

  • 2005


    We were the first ones in the Baltic States in 2005 to modernize passenger/freight locomotive 2M62. During the modernization process, all nods and components were completely replaced, including internal combustion engine, generator, compressor, etc.

  • 2006


    We have modernized the first passenger/freight locomotive 2M62U in 2006 for the Latvian railways.

    International certificates were granted, which confirm that the quality management system installed in the company meets the requirements of LST EN ISO 9001:2001 standard, and environmental protection management system meets LST EN ISO 14001:2005 standard.

  • 2007


    The first modernised ČME3 diesel locomotive with internal combustion engine of CATERPILLAR firm was put into service.
    The project was awarded by the gold medal from Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.

    The company received a nomination from the Joint-Stock Company Lithuanian Railways in 2007 for being “The best subsidiary of the Joint-Stock Company in 2007”.

  • 2008


    We were the first among the Baltic States and Commonwealth of Independent States to modernize a shunting locomotive TGM-4 using a CATERPILLAR diesel engine.

  • 2009


    The company started producing innovative and modern shunting locomotives TEM TMH  and received a gold medal from Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists for this achievement.

  • 2010


    The company, together with its partners, presented a new locomotive  TEM TMH in international railroad salon EXPO-1520.

  • 2011


    The company exported new manufactured shunting locomotive TEM TMH to the customer in Estonia for the first time in 2011.

  • 2012


    In 2012 the company performed general overhaul and modernisation of the specialised snow blower SM-2.

  • 2013


    The company presented new shunting locomotives TEM33TEM35 and TEM LTH in the international railway salon EXPO-1520.

    The company received a gold medal from Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists for newly produced railway vehicle AGRC-1200.

  • 2014


    We exported 5 new shunting locomotives TEM TMH to an Estonian national company”EVR Cargo AS”.

    The company produced a new mechanised platform MMP-61, which is meant for transporting the railroad switches and it has no analogues in the Eastern Europe.

    A new draisine KTD designed for the maintenance and diagnosis of the railway infrastructure was introduced at the international railway exhibition INNOTRANS-2014.

  • 2015


    We modernized a locomotive TEP70M.

  • 2017


    The geography of our activity and the range of services provided were expanded by freight wagon repair services performed at the Radviliškis freight wagon depot.

  • 2018


    We performed the first repair of the locomotive TEM-2 for European (1435 mm) gauge.

    Since 2008 the TGM-4 modernization project has gained trust not only in Lithuania but also abroad. The modernized locomotive TGM4-2970, ordered by customers from Ukraine, was awarded a gold medal in the competition “Lithuanian Product of the Year 2018” organized by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.

    We were awarded as a “Successful Company 2018” by the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists.

  • 2019


    We prepared and started the implementation of a modernization project of TEM-2, which has no analogues.
